My name is Nelsie Yang. I am a proud Hmong daughter of refugees, woman of color, mom, former union steward, and the first Hmong American woman and youngest person to be elected to the Saint Paul City Council in 2019.

NELS started off as my creative outlet during the pandemic in 2020. It’s where I expressed my hobbies outside of the usual rigid and tamed political spaces I was in. Through NELS, I shared about beauty, food, best tips and tricks learned through motherhood, and more. Today, NELS is a blog of my life journey and my platform empowering others to live their life with courage and clarity in order to soar in reaching their hopes and dreams and be the best version of themselves.
